Building Relationships
While our addition to our building is essentially finished with only some stair railing and landscaping to finish, our work as people of God is never done. Each day should be a day to break ground and reach out to people and build stronger relationships sharing God's love.
Did you know that our church also has a Facebook group page? As more people use this social networking software and join the Maria Lutheran Church group created by one of our members, events can be promoted through invitations to group members. We just posted a few pictures going back to our centennial celebration in 2006 and church groundbreaking for our renovation/addition. These pictures show Bishop deFreese and Pastor Judy and our special shovel. Construction didn't start right after the groundbreaking but it symbolized our intentions to build during our special celebration.
Exciting things continue to happen at our church to bring people closer in relationship to God. Our Sunday school program is vibrant and follows monthly themes. Children enjoy learning Bible stories and verses and busy adults can choose to help every month or fill in as special visitors for just one month. When children are at their classes in their special remodeled Sunday school area in the church basement, adults meet for Bible study in the fellowship hall. Confirmation for 7th and 8th graders meets through weekend retreats and we look forward to confirmation this coming month. High school youth stay active through the MAGIC Youth group that meets Wednesday evenings, alternating between Maria and Grace churches. Most months, women meet for quilting the third Wednesday in the morning and for bible study and fellowship over supper that same day. Come to one or to both! All are welcome!
